Current Project - Cold Earth

I would like to bring together a body of work to challenge our relationship with ‘the earth’, by communicating our ‘interconnection’ and sense of ritual through the medium of life drawing and performances.

I have been investigating our collective identity with our ancient heritage and local landscape and using drawing practice to explore the importance of mark making and our sub conscience.

“I restricted myself to a palette of basic materials – wallpaper/charcoal/ink/masking tape – in order to challenge myself to try and capture the spontaneity in my mark making.

This project for me is about trying to reach our basic instinct and communicating with the raw energy of what it means to be human.

These drawings hope to challenge the onlooker to ask the question “what it is to be a human being alive today and how our relationship with the environment has or hasn’t changed throughout the millennias of time.

To touch us to remember that our fragility and strength are a part of each other and also a part of the earth in the past, present and future”.
